Here is a of photo of one of our Student Leaders (on the right) meeting with the Kiwassa House staff. They used 480 Turkey Dollars to buy the birds! We bought nine big turkeys!
We still have 79 IGA Turkey Dollars and 76 Stongs Turkey Dollars, which will go to other charities as well as to families who might be in need.
On Thursday we will be collecting donations at the JQ Winter Concert, so please bring your kind donations and help support the homeless.
Keep an eye out for new blog posts!

Coin Drive Update
Congratulations, to all the participants in our coin drive. It was a sucess, we raised a total of 231.01 $ and we raised over 550 turkey dollars! We would like to congratulate division 11, who collected 67.29$ You may not believe it, but all this money was raised in less than a week!
We would like to notify the school community that on Thursday the 16 of Dec. the "One Night Out" team will be visiting the Kiwassa Soup Kitchen, and donating all the money our wonderful school has raised. Some of our Student Leaders will be helping at the kitchen with the jobs needed as mentioned in our previous post.

This afternoon, Jamie and his mother are going to visit Stongs and buy as many turkeys as they can afford using all the Turkey Dollars we've raised. The manager of the Kiwassa House will be there to greet Jamie and his mother. The turkeys will be fed to those in need on Thursday.

Happy Holidays
This time of year our student leaders are doing a lot to keep the holidays happy. We have many projects on the go: Christmas hampers, fundraiser, and much more.
Currently our 'One Night Out' is planning a coin drive. Student leaders have visited each classroom to give small presentation about the coin drive. Each class has received an envelope with the classroom's Division on the front. We expect students to place spare change inside the envelope. We will be collecting envelopes from each class on Tuesday, Dec. 14th. All the money and Turkey Dollars collected will go to a soup kitchen in the Downtown East side (Kiwassa House). 'One Night Out' will help the soup kitchen by helping cook, serve and help with cleaning up after on Thursday Dec 16th.
Which class will collect the most? Have fun!

Ask your parents for their spare change, or donate some of your spare change. Be The Change you want to see in the future.
