We Day Pictures and Comments

"We Day" at GM Place was a fantastic day! Here are some pictures and students' comments we would like to share with you. Enjoy...

After the "We Day" event, student leaders were asked to respond to the following question: One learning I will take with me will be…

“If the problem is huge and in many different locations, all it takes is one person. Each time you do something (small even) you’re going one step further to helping the world. Like a staircase, each little thing you do is one step further to the top. You alone can make a big difference!”
-Tarek

“Our generation is not only the future, it is now! I think it is important not to start helping people later but to start now and build on what we are doing from smaller to bigger projects as you grow.”
-Emma

“The idea of respect. It is easy to forget every day that everyone has feelings which can be hurt. The idea is to put yourself into someone else’s place and think what it is like to be hurt.”
-Joel

“No matter who you are or what age you are, you can always make a difference in the world. We are the next generation!”
-Emma B

What an amazing group of student we are working with!

We Day at GM Place - September 29

The first activity that most of the student leaders had a chance to go to was the Me to We day at GM Place. We saw a lot of famous people like the Dalai Lama, Jane Goodal and Mia Farrow! Here is a link of the We Day website:

During that day, we also found out about organizations that make the world a better place. Many sponsors such as Club Penguin were there to talk to us. They talked about how we could help less fortunate children around the world. Jane Goodal also talked about helping animals and the environment. Michel Chikwanine, a former child soldier, told us about his personal story. He helped us realize the things that really need to be changed in the world.
